Policy for Authorship before Publication

Any change in the authorship (such as addition or deletion of the author(s) or change in the sequence of author list) should be intimated to the editorial office through a letter signed by all authors before publication of the book. In absence of any signed letter, approval of final version (ready-to-be-published) by the corresponding author will work as ‘final agreement of authorship’.

Policy for Authorship after Publication

Generally, any change in the authorship after final publication is not entertained. But if dispute resolution is absolutely necessary then below-mentioned policies and COPE guidelines are followed.

1. Each existing author (as published in the book or book chapter or monograph), should explain in details the reasons for the change in authorship. Each existing author should write separately this letter in the present University letterhead, sign and clearly scan the letters and send us to the publisher’s official mail ID (editor@pen2print.org) from their official mail ID. In order to prove that these are their official emails, each author should send soft copy of their own published paper, where these email IDs are printed or send us the link of their official homepage in their University website, where these emails IDs are available or any certificate from HOD about authenticity of this email ID.

2. Each new author should write to the publisher that what contribution he/she has made to this book chapter or monograph and why he/she wants to establish and get his/her authorship. Each new author should write separately this letter in the present University letterhead, sign and clearly scan the letters and send us to the publisher’s official mail ID (editor@pen2print.org) from their official mail ID. In order to prove that these are their official emails, each author should send soft copy of their own published paper, where these email IDs are printed or send us the link of their official homepage in their University website, where these emails IDs are available or any certificate from HOD about authenticity of this email ID.

3. The corresponding author should write to us that what contribution new author(s) has made to this book chapter or monograph and why existing authors should be excluded. The corresponding author should also explain that why he/she has approved the final version with disputed authors, which is normally considered as a certificate of agreement of authorship, as per the publisher’s rule. The corresponding author should write separately this letter in the present University letterhead and sign and clearly scan the letters and send us to the publisher’s official mail ID (editor@pen2print.org) from his/her official mail ID. In order to prove that this is his/her official mail, corresponding author should send soft copy of his/her own published paper, where these email IDs are printed or send us the link of his/her official homepage in their University website, where this email ID is available or any certificate from HOD about authenticity of this email ID.

4.If the editorial office receives written signed consent from all existing and new authors, as explained above, then “Final Authorship” will be changed and published.

If we don’t get written signed consent from all existing and new authors, as explained above, then the following steps (5&6) will be followed.

5. The corresponding author should send the complete mailing address and email IDs (of each existing and new author’s) of their respective 1. Head of the department 2. Vice-Chancellor/Director/Rector of the University (with webpage link).

6. The editorial office will officially request the topmost authority of each university to investigate this case of “Authorship dispute”. Depending on the investigation result of each respective University and their recommendation, “Final authorship” will be decided and will be changed accordingly in the book chapter or the monograph.

EduPub would not be responsible for any dispute related to the authorship of a submitted/published book or book chapter or monograph.
